About

I'm a visual artist obsessed with optimism. Originally from California, now living in New York. This is a space where I think through and share notes on art, art worlds, transparency, positive psychology, and my process.

I’m 🥹 LIVING for the 😀 joy & 🥰 pride of the designers—working class, immigrant, BIPOC women who created banners to represent their resilience and marched them in the Chinese New Year Parade.
Today & tomorrow only: Use the 🐣 EARLYBIRD discount code for THIRD PRINTING 🤯☺️ pre-orders of my book on belonging, one of the seeds 🌱 that many current projects 🌳 on belonging draw from. Save $5 to get the pre-“all-this” <waves hands around>👋🏾 price.
Anti-Prom Paper Dolls 😍created at @berkeleyartcenter during my show Holding, 3/22-4/29. 🙏🏾Huge thanks @kimbr @yung_sch0lar and the many art handlers and helpers who installed the show, painted the map, and helped me finish the set of 4 zines totaling over 200 pages ahead of the launch and my travels. Thanks for deinstalling while I was away. From one art handler to another, everything was so organized. <Cue the sun parting the clouds music.>🌤️

September 29, 2010cwongyapart in odd places, volunteer Leave a comment

I’m helping out with a cool grassroots art project called Art in Odd Places. The opening reception is this Friday, October 1, and it continues for 10 days. There will be all sorts of public art projects all along 14th Street in Manhattan. Check it out.
