Ellen Sebastian Chang’s and Maya Gurantz’ live video feed public art project, A Hole in Space (Oakland Redux), was inspired by Kit Galloway’s and Sherry Rabinowitz’ 1980 Hole in Space. But instead of inviting the public on opposite coasts to interact as in the original version, Chang and Gurantz sited the project for residents of North and East Oakland.
