Went to Hou Hanrou’s third installment of World Factory at SFAI last night. Lots of interesting work by artists from around the world, including Didier Faustino, who contributed architectural proposals that were surprisingly sensual. Also liked Lordy Rodriguez’s maps, which appear obsessively handdrawn and researched.
Followed that up with Intersection for the Arts’ Annual Auction. They always do such a nice job, very swank and peopled by a dedicated community of supporters. Both my drawings sold, as well as some pieces I would have loved to own. Also met a lot of really cool artists, like Jonn Herschend, whose smart, text-y videos I’ve been enjoying. Cool!
